PLANT CARE and WARRANTY GUIDE
SOD
Proper care:
New sod must be heavily watered every day for a 2-3  week period to assure establishment.  After 2-3 weeks (when small finger roots appear under the sod), do not water for 2 days, than cut the lawn for the first time.  After that, continue to water daily to assure enough moisture to retain proper growth.  Lawn cutting should be done at minimum once per week, twice if excessive growth occurs.  If your job required only small pieces of sod to be installed along walks or bed edges or within an existing lawn area, it is important to remember that the new pieces need substantially more water than the area around them and thus will require hand water soaking to properly establish.  A 5 application per season fertilizing program should be started to assure proper nutrients.

LSI Warranty:
LSI does not warranty sod installation.

PERENNIALS AND ORNAMENTAL GRASSES

Proper care:
New plantings should receive daily watering for 1 week by means of soaking the plant.  After that only water to achieve moist soil conditions, heavily watered conditions after establishment will result in poor plant growth or death.  Insufficient watering will also cause poor growth or death.  Miracle Grow type fertilizers should be used monthly to assure good plant nutrition.

LSI Warranty:
LSI does not warranty Perennial or Ornamental Grass plantings.

EVERGREEN AND DECIDUOUS TREES

Proper Care:
A deep watering (sprinkler systems WILL NOT provide this method of watering) 3 to 4 times per week is required for the first 3 months until the plant material has put some roots out of the balls.  If hot and dry weather exists after this period, watering should continue until more favorable weather returns. If you suspect that you are over watering, some indications on the plant are: leaves or needles turning yellow from the bottom up on the plant, wilting of plant or if the bark is peeling away from the trunk at the base of the plant.  Another sign of over watering is muddy soil conditions or water build up at the base of the ball of the tree.  To check for excessive water at the base, dig a small hole next to the ball of the tree about 1 foot deep, if the soil is extremely wet and muddy the plant is probably getting too much water.  After this initialization period is over, water the tree to moist conditions 2-3 times per week.

LSI Warranty:
LSI warranties the plant for 1 year against improper planting or placement.  LSI will not warranty any plant that has shown poor growth or death due to improper watering
.

SHRUBS

Proper Care:
A deep watering focused on the base of the shrub is required daily for 1 week than, for the following month, the soil around the shrub should be taken to a moist condition daily.  After this initialization, the shrub should be watered 2-3 times per week to assure adequate moisture.  During the deep watering period, sprinkler systems should be amended with an open soaking hose.  Miracle Grow type fertilizers should be used monthly to assure good plant nutrition.

LSI Warranty:
LSI warranties shrubs for 1 year against improper planting or placement. LSI will not warranty a plant that has shown poor growth or death due to improper watering.

ANNUAL FLOWERS

Proper Care:
In most cases, annuals require frequent watering cycles, usually 2 times per day, to achieve moist soil conditions.  Frequent applications of a Miracle Grow type fertilizer is imperative for good plant nutrition.  Poor plant growth or plant death will result from improper watering.

LSI Warranty:
LSI warranties Annual Flowers only for improper planting.
